Meeting Minutes

Winter 2009

Dear Fellow Tennessee Skeet Shooters:

Well, here we are at 2010 and we still have our guns!

I am ready for another season of skeet shooting in the great state of Tennessee.  I hope to bring some things to light this year in voting on when and where we have our state shoot.  One idea I have is to rotate between Maury Co, TCTC, and Henry Horton.  Sorry East and West Tenn it just seems like the best place.  I also want to make sure our host club provides a lunch on Sat and Sun that they can charge for and keep that to help offset any expenses they have incurred at the shoot.  It just provides some goodwill between shooters and clubs.  I also think that the TSSA will make a fair offer of what we will pay per target, catering and other charges and the clubs can either accept or move on to the next in line.

I think we should bring back voting by the shooters and these shooters will be the ones that shoot at our State Shoot the previous year.  This will keep members who shoot a voice in what happens at the next shoot.

The next few TSSA meetings, I'm sure, will be lively and my intention are not to do any harm to our sport but I think there has to be some changes made to help us grow and stay viable.  I welcome contact for ideas on upcoming state shoots.  My goal is to make each year better.

I'm sure every one knows by now we lost a great asset to our sport in the passing of Carl Poston.  Please keep his family in your prayers, he will be missed.

The Spring Meeting is scheduled for March 20 2010.  The location will be Cedar City Gun Club.  The meeting will start at 12:30 CST sharp.  On this day Cedar City is hosting a 4x50 shoot, fee's will be $12.50 per gun.  You can contact Bill Ross 615-889-2704 about the shoot.

I hope every one has a Merry Christmas and may God Bless.  Thank you and good luck in 2010.

Your officers for the 2010 season are…

In closing I would like to say...while most of us are relatively new to TSSA we are here to serve, but to serve effectively we need your feedback and “constructive” criticism. In return we ask you to review the website from time to time as we’ll do our best to keep it up to date and current with useful information.
Sincerely yours,

Bill Denny    2010 TSSA President
